She won Lady Open Singles Champion with a 186, Lady Open Doubles Champion with an 80, Lady Open Handicap Champion with a 92. Congrats Jamie way to represent!

Don’t forget the Zone 4 Trap Shoot is this weekend. The club will be closed for regular business Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It should be a great turnout, Jack and Jimmy have requested good weather, and the targets will be spot on. See you there.

The 4H Fandango shoot is today, Saturday. Looks like the weather will be good and the temperature should be great. The club is closed for regular business but feel free to come on out and watch the kids shoot.

Remember, the club is closed this Saturday for the 4H Fandango shoot. The regularly scheduled club skeet shoot will take place on Sunday, May 13th starting at 1:00 PM.

Regarding the May club skeet shoot. We have been bumped from our normal time this Saturday due to the 4H Fandango shoot. There is a registered trap shoot the following weekend. As a result the May club skeet shoot has been moved to this Sunday,May 13. Signup will start at 1:00 and shooting will start at 1:30. As a reminder we will be shooting 12 and 28 gauge.

It has been pointed out that Sunday is Mother’s day. I am sorry for the potential conflict. As a compromise, I suggest that you bring mom with you and let her shoot a round or two.

Finally some good, not prefect, but good trap shooting weather!  We had a nearly clear sky, warm temperatures and some south wind, but the wind was at least steady. The targets were flying very nicely and the scores were up as a result.  We were happy to welcome back some shooters that have missed the club trap shoots for a while.  Junior Lady shooters; Devan Bauer and Taylor Dennett were back shooting with us as were the husband and wife team of Vickie and James Jennings, Audrey Phillips and John Scott also joined in after not being with us for a while. Welcome back to all.  We also had two new shooters to the club trap shoot this month, welcome to Bill Stone and Stanley Mayfield.

The May club trap shoot is just five days away!!!! Saturday, May 05 registration at 11 AM and the first squad starts shooting at Noon. See you there! Perfect weather has been requested for this club shoot, we’ll see if my request is granted!

April 21, 2012 was a beautiful day for the first registered trap shoot of 2012. It was great to see our old shooting friends and have the opportunity to make some new friends. We had over 50 shooters show up, and would like to thank each one of them for participating in the shoot. We even had several shooters from the Houston drive up to shoot.

Right out of the gate the majority of the comments made by the shooters was on the appearance of the club. Many of the shooters commented that they had never seen the club look as fresh and clean and that they had been coming to shoots there since the 90’s. I must declare the grounds were perfect!

“Job well done” to Rich Hatler and Noel Blaas! Rich set some of the prettiest targets a shooter will see at FTW&S with the north wind blowing and Noel kept things flowing in an orderly fashion from Bank to Bank.
